What will you do?

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in the implementation of EHS programs and processes aligned with operational needs, legislative requirements, and new project specifications.

  • Lead the EHS expansion development process by evaluating proposals, RFPs, and contractual documentation to identify and mitigate potential EHS risks, establishing criteria for new business expansions.

  • Provide strategic guidance on expansion projects to ensure EHS standards, risk controls, and regulatory requirements are fully integrated into all phases of new operations.

  • Partner with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to deliver strategic oversight and coordination of high‑risk activities associated with expansion initiatives, ensuring robust risk controls and full compliance with EHS standards, while leading contractor management processes to guarantee safe and compliant performance.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the EHS Management System in alignment with JCI requirements and industry standards, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OHSAS 18001.

  • Provide executive‑level leadership in the implementation and continuous improvement of the CTPAT program, serving as an integral member of the site leadership team to ensure strong security management, regulatory compliance, and active participation in emergency response and crisis‑management structures.

  • Provide strategic oversight to evaluate, harmonize, and ensure the effective implementation of legal and regulatory compliance requirements across all applicable government agencies.

  • Support and provide professional EHS review of incident investigations, ensuring high‑quality root cause analyses and timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Present EHS program results, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to staff and leadership as needed, including presentations throughout all phases of new project development (proposal, start‑up/transition, and ongoing operations).

  • Conduct EHS training for staff, plant employees, and contractors based on identified needs, including EHS strategies and goals, regulatory updates, technical program requirements, injury trends, and operational controls relevant to the site and new projects.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
EHS Compliance Performance:

Achieve 100% compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate EHS requirements, including timely closure of audit findings.
Expansion Project Integration:
Demonstrate successful implementation of EHS requirements, risk assessments, and contractor safety controls in all expansion phases, with no project delays attributable to EHS gaps.
High‑Risk Activity Oversight:
Ensure zero serious injuries, environmental incidents, or major deviations in high‑risk activities associated with expansions or construction work.
CTPAT and Security Performance:
Maintain full compliance with CTPAT requirements, achieving successful audits with zero critical findings and strengthening site security controls.
Incident Investigation Quality:
Complete incident investigations within established timelines with accurate root cause analysis and timely, effective corrective actions.
Contractor Safety Management:
Maintain contractor safety performance indicators equal to or better than internal operations, with strong adherence to contractor EHS programs and onboarding standards.
Training Completion & Competency:
Achieve full completion of assigned EHS training for staff and contractors, with measurable improvement in operational safety behaviors.
EHS Metrics & Reporting:
Deliver timely, accurate EHS performance reports and dashboards, showing continuous improvement in leading and lagging indicators.
Process Standardization:
Implement and sustain standardized EHS processes and best practices across all site functions, measured by improved audit results and reduced procedural variances.
Emergency & Crisis Readiness:
Maintain effective emergency response procedures, conduct required drills, and demonstrate readiness during evaluations and crisis‑management activities.

What are we looking for?

Required:

  • Engineering degree or related field, preferably with specialization in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security.

  • Certifications and expertise in high‑risk activities, electrical safety, environmental and occupational safety legal requirements, operational controls, and hazard identification/risk assessment (ISO 12100 / JSA / AMEF / 5 Steps Security).

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in EHS, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Planner, and EHS/Safety management software.

  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Fluent English is desirable.

  • Ability to influence without direct authority.

  • Strong commitment to a safety‑first culture, with demonstrated capability in preparing reports, executive summaries, and using data‑driven decision‑making.

  • Strong collaboration with Production, Maintenance, HR, and Contractors.

  • Demonstrated ability to champion standardization initiatives, ensuring consistent implementation of EHS processes, best practices, and operational controls.

  • Ability to implement policies and procedures, leveraging strong negotiation skills, cost‑justification expertise, and strategic financial acumen to support EHS and operational decisions.
