The Role

As an EHS Intern supporting the new Wastewater Treatment Plant (PTAR) at Planta Componentes, you will participate in the start‑up activities and contribute to the development of operational documentation required to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements. You will work alongside plant teams and external providers to establish monitoring, measurement, and control mechanisms aligned with applicable NOMs, while supporting the Management of Change (MOC) process for the project.

What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)

PTAR Start-Up & Operational Documentation

  • Participate in the start‑up activities of the new PTAR in coordination with plant personnel and external suppliers.
  • Develop and document operational controls, work instructions, and procedures aligned with internal EHS requirements.
  • Define monitoring and measurement criteria to ensure compliance with relevant NOMs based on the plant’s treatment capacity.

Regulatory Compliance & Technical Analysis

  • Consult and interpret applicable NOMs to align operational practices with legal requirements.
  • Conduct capacity analysis of the new PTAR to ensure proper parameter tracking and compliance.
  • Perform technical documentation reviews to support risk analysis and standard adherence.

MOC Execution & Closure

  • Support the full execution and closure of the MOC (Management of Change) for the PTAR project.
  • Use the MOC platform to document changes, track actions, and evaluate impacts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of tasks and approvals.

Project Coordination & Timeline Management

  • Work with cross‑functional teams to maintain project timelines and ensure alignment with the project schedule.
  • Participate in meetings with plant teams and external suppliers to track progress and resolve gaps.
  • Support communication and documentation required for project advancement.

What Success Looks Like

By the end of the internship, you will have:

  • Fully documented operational controls, procedures, and work instructions for the PTAR.
  • Defined and implemented monitoring and measurement systems aligned with the corresponding NOMs.
  • Completed the MOC process with proper documentation and action closure.
  • Supported a smooth PTAR start‑up in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated strong time management, technical writing, and regulatory analysis capabilities.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Applicable Backgrounds:

  • Students in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields with interest in EHS, regulatory compliance, and industrial water treatment processes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with environmental regulations (NOMs)
  • Basic understanding of wastewater treatment or industrial environmental systems (desired)
  • Ability to write and structure technical documentation
  • Experience with project timelines or coordination tools
  • Interest in EHS systems, risk analysis, and compliance monitoring

Work Model & Travel

  • On‑site at Planta Componentes
  • No travel required
