Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, policies and procedures.
- Oversee maintenance of OSHA 300 log and internal metrics.
- Consult with HR and medical team to ensure employee health and safety.
- Audit and edit First Alerts and Incident Reports for EHS and Executive Reviews.
- Provide safety reports/metrics to Logistics leadership as needed.
- Identify hazardous conditions/actions within the transportation organization and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate all incidents and property losses, following internal reporting procedures and systems (Global Data Center).
- Ensure that supervisors/group leaders have training material for daily/weekly training.
- Assist HR with Front Line Leader training and periodic review of the Complete Safety Culture curriculum.
- Ensure required regulatory safety training is being conducted.
- Complete the EHS Regulatory Task schedule annually.
- Assist with the administration of the workers compensation program.
- Manage all federal, state and local environmental permits and ensure compliance.
- Assist inspection personnel from insurance carriers, OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.
- Ensure ISO standards are met by department.
- Perform any other duties established by the EH&S Manager.
- Maintain internal database (PCS) with current driver status, license information, and DOT compliance information.
- Monitor FLL checklist daily and review with driver managers.
- Will work with Amcor Facilities as a go-between with JJ Keller to maintain compliance with FMCSA documentation for drivers.
- Ensure drivers Amcor drivers remain compliant with dot physicals, drug/alcohol screenings, and driver license renewals in accordance with all state, federal, and local laws.
- Reporting drug & alcohol violations through the clearinghouse – (ex. refusal to test = verified positive per DOT rules & regulations)
- Record of Duty Status (RODS) and supporting document retention
- Auditing driver’s RODS
- Manage driver and fleet scorecard to track overall safety and compliance performance
- Report non-compliant drivers or incidents to Amcor EH&S Manager for corrective action/discipline.
- Audit safety orientation courses and content.
- Ensure required regulatory safety training is being conducted.
Qualifications:
- Two years of transportation safety management experience
- OTR driving experience (preferred by not required)
- Working knowledge of federal and state safety laws, particularly FMCSR and OSHA standards
- Understand and apply meaningful operations and safety performance metrics
- Ability to plan and execute events, and safety meetings
- Organization and attention to detail
- Adaptability, multi-tasking ability, sense of urgency
- Confident decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, issue resolution skills
- Ability in producing reports
- Working knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated results in establishing strategic goals and metrics for measuring success • Knowledgeable and competent in behavioral-based safety programs
- Strong Computer application skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
