At Counterpart Health, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient care with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant. By supporting Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), we deliver improved patient outcomes at a lower cost through early diagnosis and longitudinal care management of chronic conditions.
We are hiring an EHR Interoperability Lead to own the expansion and evolution of Counterpart’s interoperability ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, technical execution, and partner management, ensuring Counterpart can connect to and deliver value across a diverse network of EHR systems.
You will coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to make sure integrations are delivered on time and meet quality standards. You will translate the technical and business requirements into clear execution plans, manage dependencies, and keep work moving across engineering, data, and vendor teams. This is a highly cross-functional and strategic role—ideal for someone who is technically fluent enough to speak the language of engineers and vendors, but whose superpower is ensuring complex integrations actually ship.
As an EHR Interoperability Lead, you will:
- Own Counterpart’s EHR interoperability program delivery. Track and manage all ongoing EHR integration efforts, ensuring they progress smoothly from contracting through go-live.
- Coordinate the work, not the code. Partner with engineering and data teams to ensure build and testing milestones are met; proactively identify risks, unblock teams, and escalate issues.
- Evaluate and scope new integrations. Assess feasibility and effort, help to inform sequencing and prioritization, and ensure technical requirements are well-documented.
- Manage external partners and vendors. Drive contracting, IT/security reviews, sandbox access, and testing coordination with EHR vendors and integration partners.
- Establish playbooks and metrics. Build repeatable processes for integration delivery, track KPIs such as coverage, cycle time, and reliability, and communicate progress to leadership.
- Serve as the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, and Customer teams to align on priorities and timelines.
Success in this Role Looks Like:
- Over the first 90 days, you will hit the ground running. We are actively engaged in integrations, and you will shadow and participate in those integrations to learn the process. The goal of the first 90 days is to understand the various elements of the integration process (user coordination, identifying key stakeholders in practices, learning the integration process for a user, understanding the dynamics of our internal user management platform) and create the playbook for subsequent integration phases.
- Within the first 6 months, success will be measured by substantially increasing the total addressable opportunity of EHR integrations across our user base. Once these opportunities are unlocked, they will be handed off to the EHR Implementation team who are responsible for upgrading existing users to these newly available integrated experiences.
- Over time, performance will be measured based on the consistency, speed, and on-target delivery of new EHR integrations. As we onboard new customers with various EHRs in their networks, you will be accountable for working within the timelines of those integrations and ensuring a smooth go-live process for each user.
You should get in touch if:
- You have 5+ years of experience in healthcare technology with a focus on EHR interoperability, integrations, or data exchange.
- You have hands-on familiarity with FHIR, HL7 v2, SMART on FHIR, and API-based integrations.
- You can read and interpret technical documentation and collaborate effectively with engineers to troubleshoot integration issues.
- You are comfortable managing vendor relationships and cross-functional programs.
- You’re an analytical, structured thinker who can balance speed and quality in a dynamic environment.
- You’re motivated by improving clinical workflows and helping technology fit naturally into the care delivery process.
