Job Description:
PRN First Shift
The EEG Technician plays a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions by performing precise EEG tests to measure and record brain wave activity. You will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, operate advanced diagnostic equipment, and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of EEG recordings.
- Prepare patients for EEG procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort and cooperation.
- Apply electrodes to the scalp according to the international 10-20 system, using appropriate techniques to achieve optimal electrode placement and signal quality
- Operate EEG equipment to monitor and record brain wave activity during rest, activation, and stimulation procedures
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of EEG procedures, including patient information, test parameters, and observations
- Review and analyze EEG recordings to identify abnormal patterns, epileptiform activity, and other neurological abnormalities
Requirements
- BLS for Healthcare Providers through AHA or ARC
Preferred Requirements:
- Associate degree or certificate in EEG technology, neurodiagnostic technology, or a related field or
- Previous EEG experience or
- Direct patient care experience (CNA, MA, PCT)
