• Salary package: From $99,161 per annum (HEW 6) plus 17% employer's superannuation contribution and annual leave loading.
• Based at the Faculty of Arts, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

The Role 
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Education Support Officer to work collaboratively as part of the Educational Services Delivery team within the Faculty of Arts. 
 
This role plays a key part in enhancing the quality of course delivery and student experience by providing integrated advice and administrative support to academic staff in relation to the delivery and coordination of courses and units.

Reporting to the Educational Services Delivery Manager, you will expertly coordinate the delivery of operational and administrative support across the lifecycle of courses to enhance the delivery quality and student experience, ensuring excellence in service and compliance with university policies,
 
Key responsibilities include: 

  • Providing advice and support to Course Directors, Discipline Chairs, Heads of School or Department and Unit Convenors on all matters related to the delivery and administration of courses and units.

  • Coordinating course-level operational and administrative processes to enhance course delivery and student experience.

  • Supporting annual course planning, including communication of key milestones and requirements, and assisting with the development of resources such as study plans and course guides.

  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of assessments, moderation and result ratification processes, and managing grade administration and changes.

  • Support the implementation of strategic course-level initiatives as required and in collaboration with other members of the Education Services teams.

  • Providing timetable advice internally and with central teams to coordinate and support class registration and management, with a focus on course-level timetabling to improve student experience of learning.

  • Acting as a liaison point for teaching staff, guest lecturers, external experts and sessional staff.

  • Working collaboratively with university stakeholders (such as the Student Shared Services Centre teams) to identify and implement improvements to student administration processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous improvement to enhance and streamline the student experience.

  • Supporting the management and resolution of complex student lifecycle enquiries, processes and cases in partnership with Student Shared Services, Student Case Management and any other areas of the University as required.

You are an organised and resourceful professional with a strong understanding of academic governance or curriculum administration in a higher education environment. You bring exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting. 

Your collaborative approach enables you to engage effectively with academic leaders, professional staff, and committee members, while ensuring high-quality outcomes across governance and curriculum processes.

Essential Selection Criteria 

  • Degree or tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent relevant experience. 

  • Experience in providing support and advice in the delivery of education and/or complex student services settings.

  • Experience in providing data analysis and high-quality administrative support, including annual planning documentation and project plans. 

  • Experience in interpreting and providing advice across tertiary education policies, processes, and course/unit governance structures. 

  • Time management and organisational skills with the ability to coordinate and deliver on competing deadlines. 

  • Experience in identifying, developing, and implementing administrative process improvement initiatives. 

  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. 

 
Desirable Criteria 

  • Experience in a higher education environment. 

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft papers or submissions. 

  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and database management systems and applications.
