Summary:

The Foundational Curriculum Coordinator provides operational and logistical support for foundational (block-based) pre-clerkship courses in Years 1 and 2 of the MD curriculum. This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of course delivery, including Canvas management, classroom logistics, assessment support, attendance tracking, and coordination of instructional resources.

The position also participates in intentional cross-coverage with the Longitudinal Curriculum Team and Assessment operations during peak workload periods. 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health or other related fields
  • Three (3) years of experience equivalent experience in academic medicine strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting health professions education or complex academic programs
  • Familiarity with Canvas, ExamSoft, NBME, or LearningSpace systems

Essential Functions:

Foundational Course Operations

Support planning, delivery, and evaluation of foundational Y1/Y2 pre-clerkship courses Serve as an operational point of contact for course directors, faculty, and students Ensure accurate and timely execution of course schedules and instructional activities

Canvas & Educational Technology Support

Build and maintain Canvas course sites, including syllabi, schedules, modules, calendars, and course materials Ensure alignment across Canvas Schedule, Modules, and Calendar tools Support gradebook setup and maintenance as directed Assist with assessment and curricular content mapping projects

Classroom & Session Logistics

Prepare classrooms for daily pre-clerkship sessions, including instructional technology setup Coordinate room reservations and collaborate with scheduling partners to avoid conflicts Troubleshoot technology issues in collaboration with information technology and educational technology teams Secure faculty and staff parking access as needed Contribute to execution of foundational course simulation events

Student Attendance & Absence Management

Process absence requests in accordance with program attendance policies Configure and manage attendance systems, including roster imports and settings Reconcile mandatory attendance with approved absences and maintain accurate records

Assessment & Exam Support

Provide operational support for examinations, including room preparation and proctoring assistance Assist with testing accommodations and exam day logistics Support ExamSoft, NBME, and LearningSpace workflows as assigned

Cross Coverage & Additional Support

Provide cross coverage support to the Longitudinal Curriculum Team during peak periods (e.g., clinical performance exam weeks, simulation events) Assist with assessment operations and largescale curricular events as needed Support academic ceremonies and institutional events (e.g., White Coat, Match Day, Graduation) as assigned Perform other related duties consistent with the role as needed

Pay Range

$28.55 - $42.85

Summary

This position will report to the Foundations Manager in the Undergraduate Medical Education office. The position also participates in intentional cross-coverage with the Longitudinal Curriculum Team and Assessment operations during peak workload periods.
