Editorial Solutions Specialist

In this role, the Editorial Solution Specialist will oversee vendor and temporary workforce management for Practical Law globally, partnering with Editorial, Product Management, Finance, and other Thomson Reuters departments as needed to maintain existing vendor and temporary workforce arrangements, spearhead new vendor initiatives, and facilitate contractor and intern placements for Practical Law US, UK, Global, and Canada. The Specialist also supports process improvement efforts, data analytics and reporting, and AI and LLM model evaluation and development as needed.

About the Role:

  • Manage vendor projects and relationships for Practical Law globally. Work with Editorial teams to propose and pilot new projects and ensure existing vendor projects maintain quality standards.

  • Oversee vendor budgeting including tracking current spend, estimating future spend, and issuing/maintaining reports for the business and our finance partners.

  • Assess impact of vendor usage on the business and develop continuing vendor roadmap.

  • Work with sourcing and other partners to ensure PL vendor usage is consistent with broader TR vendor picture.

  • Manage invoicing through Ariba and other payment systems on behalf of the PL organization.

  • Work with subject matter leads to plan and execute contractor and intern hiring and onboarding, extensions, and terminations for Practical Law globally.

  • Act as a resource for practice area leaders in managing and tracking contractors/interns.

  • Oversee contractor and intern budgeting including tracking current spend, estimating future spend, and issuing/maintaining reports for the business and our finance partners.

  • Additional responsibilities include supporting analysis of/reporting on trends in quality and productivity data, maintaining editorial guidance and team documentation, and mapping internal processes/proposing modifications to improve efficiency.

  • Specialist may assist with the evaluation of AI and LLM models as needed, including experimentation, prompting, and evaluating results.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • JD or MBA an advantage

  • 3+ years' experience in editorial, content management, or operations roles

  • Experience with the valuation and design of processes preferred

  • Experience with or knowledge of Practical Law systems and processes preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and facilitation skills

  • Experience working with cross functional teams

  • Ability to successfully manage projects simultaneously, including conflicting deadlines

  • Demonstrated strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and leverage them to perform job junctions

  • Experience working in a virtual environment

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel

  • Experience with using legal technology, AI, Generative AI
