Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Edge Technology Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for performing in-depth analysis and creating comprehensive dependency maps to ensure the successful coordination and alignment of various systems, processes, and components across our factory resiliency initiatives. Your expertise in identifying interdependencies and potential risks will play a critical role in driving efficient workflows and achieving project goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to factory system performance, machine connectivity, and asset configurations, providing actionable recommendations to minimize production downtime.
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic, storage utilization, and system performance metrics within the factory environment to identify potential bottlenecks, risks, or vulnerabilities that could impact production.
  • Support strategic planning by identifying technical dependencies and sequencing activities related to factory system updates, equipment migrations, and integrations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of technical resources, including servers, workstations, manufacturing execution systems (MES), industrial control systems (ICS), and cloud-based platforms supporting factory operations.
  • Stay current with advancements in factory automation and operational technology (OT), providing insights and recommendations on best practices for optimizing manufacturing systems.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring a shared understanding of the factory’s technical environment and its impact on production workflows.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • 5 years experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network configurations in factory environments.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Hands-on knowledge of MES, ICS, and factory automation technologies.
  • Proficiency in managing and optimizing storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud).
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Understanding of OT cybersecurity and industrial system protections.
  • Experience participating in multiple concurrent projects.
  • Supported manufacturing environments leveraging I4.0 frameworks
  • Familiar with Enterprise and Manufacturing Applications

Work Location

This is a hybrid role, eligible candidates must reside and be able to travel to site periodically within commuting distance from Farmington, CT, additional locations will be considered MA, TX, IA, PR

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
