Job Summary
As an Edge AI Engineer, you will play a important role in the implementation, and optimization of AI models across various hardware platforms with our company, HPI. Your expertise will ensure seamless deployment and efficient execution of AI algorithms on edge devices, while maintaining a focus on data integration and storage architecture.
Responsibilities
AI Model Implementation & Optimization
Assist in the implementation and optimization of AI algorithms to run on edge devices and various hardware platforms.
Learn and utilize basic profiling tools and performance analysis techniques to identify bottlenecks in model execution.
Help monitor model performance under the guidance of senior engineers.
Frameworks and Inference Engines
Foundational knowledge of AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or ONNX to support model development.
Gain proficiency in utilizing inference SW toolkits (e.g., OpenVino, QNN/SNPE, Ryzen AI, DirectML, or TensorRT) to execute models on specific hardware.
Participate in the conversion and quantization process of models for edge deployment.
Model Deployment and Integration
Support the deployment of AI models to test and production environments, ensuring basic reliability and functional parity.
Assist in integrating AI models into existing software workflows and production systems.
Research and Learning
Actively stay updated on the latest advancements in AI technologies, specifically focusing on Edge AI and deployment strategies.
Collaboration and Documentation
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to understand deployment requirements.
Maintain clear documentation of experimental results, methodologies, and deployment steps to ensure team transparency.
Required Skills
Core Programming: Proficiency in Python is required; basic competency in C or C++ is highly preferred for hardware-level optimization.
AI Frameworks: Hands-on experience with at least one major framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ONNX) through coursework, boot camps, or internships.
Foundational Optimization: Basic understanding of how to adapt and run AI models on constrained devices (Edge/Mobile/IoT).
Inference Awareness: Familiarity with the concept of inference engines (e.g., OpenVino, RyZen AI, DirectML, or TensorRT) and a willingness to learn their specific implementations.
Data Fundamentals: Understanding of data structures, API integration, and how data flows through a machine learning pipeline.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving mindset, a passion for AI innovation, and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
Qualifications (Preferred & Minimum)
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. (Recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
Edge AI Exposure: Previous academic projects or internship experience involving Generative AI or deploying models to local hardware.
Parallel Computing: Basic exposure to or interest in parallel programming (e.g., CUDA, OpenCL, or SYCL).
Memory Management: Fundamental knowledge of memory constraints and how they impact AI application performance.
Full-Stack Awareness: A high-level understanding of the end-to-end runtime stack, from the OS layer to the AI application layer.
Domain Knowledge: Solid theoretical grounding in Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), or Speech/Audio processing.
