Job Summary
The Observation Unit Technician supports patient care by performing delegated clinical tasks, cardiac monitoring, and essential clerical duties within the Observation Unit. This role functions as both a Monitor Technician and Unit Secretary, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The technician helps maintain efficient unit operations, accurate documentation, and effective communication to promote safe, high‑quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform delegated patient‑care tasks within scope of training.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and report changes promptly.
- Support admissions, documentation, and communication flow.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and organized unit operations.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support patient care.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BCLS required (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Monitor Technician training required (must be completed within 90 days of hire for hires after 4/15/2024).
