The EASA Training Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of flight crew training within an Approved Training Organisation (ATO). This role ensures full compliance with EASA regulations (Part‑FCL and Part‑ORA), maintains high instructional standards, and manages training personnel and programs to support safe, effective, and compliant flight operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all flight training programs comply with EASA Part-FCL and Part-ORA requirements.
- Maintain and update the Training Manual and Operations Manual in line with regulatory changes.
Training Program Oversight
- Develop and standardize training syllabi for all courses (PPL, CPL, ATPL, IR, and related programs).
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training and student performance.
Instructor Management
- Supervise and assess flight instructors and examiners.
- Ensure instructors maintain required qualifications and receive ongoing professional development.
Quality Assurance and Safety Management
- Implement and manage a robust Quality Assurance System for flight training.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits by aviation authorities. o
- Collaborate with the Safety Manager to integrate safety principles into training.
- Promote a proactive safety culture within the training environment.
Documentation and Reporting
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5–8 years of experience in flight training
- Minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- In‑depth knowledge of EASA Part‑FCL, Part‑ORA, and associated AMC/GM
- Valid EASA Flight Instructor Certificate (FI, IRI, CRI, or TRI)
- Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Compliance Monitoring
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related field
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience acting as a change agent in regulated environments
- Ability to work effectively in a highly structured, compliance‑driven setting
- Team‑ and results‑oriented approach
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer orientation and adaptability in fast‑paced environments
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality and operational excellence
