DEPARTMENT:                  PROCESS CHEESE – LEGACY

WORK HOURS:                 3rd SHIFT (2230-0630), but may vary

WORK WEEK:                    Mon-Fri, but may vary

Primary Purpose:

  • Responsible for Operating, Maintaining, & Sanitation of Free Pack Filling Equipment to produce a Quality Product that is Right the First time.
  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Production schedule to determine accurate product to package, timing of changeovers and sanitation. Performs set-up for all filling equipment, start-up, and product change overs. Obtain and analyze finished product samples, using the Foodscan, Seal Tester, or current test method.
  • Required to know basic Overwrap operations & assist when having issues.
  • Monitor & control filling operation.
  • Capable to work optimally & efficiently with other Operators, Line Tech, & Case Packer Operator.
  • Assist with removal of trash & recyclables from the Filling room. Ensure housekeeping and Kraft quality standards are maintained in the work area.
  • Responsible for advising appropriate personnel to assist correcting finished product back to target.
  • Performs Sanitation on all Free Pack Filling Line equipment. Includes operating ACS system to clean water bath & dosing tanks, operating COP tubs, and operating CIP unit to wash Filling Circuits. Responsible for scraping, cleaning, and inspecting for cleanliness and damage on all Filling Equipment.
  • Responsible for required prestart-up checks.
  • Assist with R&D Trials as needed.
  • Consistently and accurately connect with Filling & Cooking.
  • Assist with Period Cleaning during downtimes & sanitation windows Perform & document all Period Cleaning items for Filling Equipment as the need arises.
  • Maintain Kraft quality standard by checking quality of seals, code dates, labels, packaging, weights, odor, color, temperature of product, etc.
  • Maintain machine operating condition through proper cleaning and lubrication to improve line optimization. This includes variety of maintenance-type functions (i.e., change-over, set-up, minor maintenance and adjustments, lubrication, production programming, etc.).
  • Perform recordkeeping as the need arises on manual, computer and other systems. Includes Progress Boards & RAIL items.
  • Coordinates the job duties or changes of duty during shift operations.
  • Responsible for making correct decisions and advising the proper personnel when there are problems, training new or inexperienced associates, maintaining accurate line speeds, and operating material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Able to learn/demonstrate proficiency in MES applications.
  • Perform other duties as advised by leadership team.
  • Accountable for the Safety, Health and Environmental systems and operational standards to ensure compliance as it is outlined in our policies/procedures and processes. Report and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Understand and apply KHMS (Kraft Heinz Management System) practices such as 5S, centerline management, shift hand-offs, operational standard ownership/support, problem solving, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge: Basic math, reading and communication.
  • Working Environment: Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general production environment.

Qualifications:

  • Able to acquire Fork Truck License.

  • Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead
  • Lifts, carries, pushes, routinely pulls and moves up to 100 pounds
  • Holds and grips objects; must possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment, disassemble and reassemble equipment.

  • Lifts, carries, pushes, routinely pulls and moves up to 100 pounds
