The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform The aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. This platform, now modified to the E-6B standard, conveys instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines, a mission known as TACAMO ("Take Charge And Move Out").
***This position is a Service Contract Act position.
Your duties will include:
Inspects mechanical final assembly installations of the aircraft such as fuselage, wings, flaps, landing gears, and tail assemblies.
Inspects systems such as hydraulic, pneumatic, oil, heat, and brakes.
Visually and physically inspects electrical installations.
Rechecks work after adjustment or repair.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Maintains necessary inspection logs and writes inspection reports.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate, update and maintain QMS policies and procedures to accommodate ever-changing business conditions.
Host and coordinate with the external QMS certification agency during the annual QMS certification audit.
Support audit coordination as applicable including strategy, logistics and execution in order to achieve smooth and successful audit processes.
Responsible for the internal audit program and ensuring all action items are processed in a timely manner compliant with processes and regulations.
Facilitate audit-finding owners to ensure all required implementation activity is completed correctly, and on time and in accordance with procedures.
Participate in Supplier Qualifications.
Assist in processing MRB and Corrective Actions with focus on performance trends and timely closure.
Analyze and present performance results relating to Quality Assurance for visibility in areas of weakness needing improvement to drive operational excellence.
Provide QMS process training to new hires and as needed across the organization.
Develop, deploy, and audit program Quality Plans as contractually required.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 10 years of Aircraft Quality Inspection relevant experience.
Able to change physical locations based upon need (including physical ability to travel)
Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions
Able to wear respirator or other safety gear.
Ability to be subject to areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed spaces.
Able to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
A&P License.
E-6B experience.
Experience performing major aircraft modifications.
