Duty Engineer
About the Role:
The Duty Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Engineering Department. With a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and service excellence, you will ensure that all hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems operate seamlessly. Your technical expertise and proactive approach directly enhance the guest experience by maintaining the highest standards of luxury and reliability throughout the property.
What you will do:
• Act as the primary engineering representative during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operation of all hotel systems.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire & life safety, and building automation systems.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests, delivering service that reflects Four Seasons standards of excellence.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure optimal functionality and presentation.
• Identify potential issues early and take corrective action to prevent guest impact.
• Supervise and coordinate tasks for engineering team members and external contractors during the shift.
• Complete accurate shift reports, maintenance logs, and work orders within the hotel’s CMMS.
• Support the preventive maintenance program to maximize asset longevity and operational reliability.
• Ensure compliance with Four Seasons standards, hotel SOPs, and all local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Assist during emergency situations, working in coordination with the leadership and security teams.
• Support sustainability efforts and energy conservation programs in alignment with Four Seasons’ environmental commitments.
What you will bring:
• Technical qualification or diploma/degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred).
• 2–5 years of engineering experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or high-end hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and building management systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and sound decision-making.
• Ability to work independently and confidently lead during assigned shifts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining luxury standards.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
