Job Details:
SUMMARY:
The responsibilities of this position include: follow an approved formula that removes the hair from the hides using a blue chrome process; stock the necessary chemicals at the work area; perform necessary Internal Preventative Maintenance of the drum; provide feedback to other operators and management; other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Tannery experience helpful; Knowledge of chemicals in a lab setting helpful not required will train.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills that allow drum operator to provide feedback to all management and co-workers;.
Special Skills: Ability to operate pallet jack and 2 wheeled dolly; time management skills self-motivated.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift push pull or carry 50 ; frequent climbing up and down stairs. Successful Candidate will be expected to pass respiratory physical to wear S.C.B.A. Equipment part of the HAZMAT Program.
