US - Remote Full Time

Company Introduction:

Airspace is a tech-enabled freight forwarder that’s redefining how the world’s most critical packages are delivered. Headquartered in Carlsbad, California, Airspace has employees who are based around the world. Our European headquarters is in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

As a recognized leader in AI and machine learning, our team leverages data and patented technology to coordinate logistics across a global network of drivers and airlines. Our goal is to deliver those packages that are truly mission-critical in a way that is faster, more transparent, more secure, and more accountable than ever before. The items we deliver range from organs for transplant, to parts for critical machinery including grounded aircraft and highly sensitive components such as semiconductors.

Airspace has been rated one of America’s best Startup Employers, listed as one of CNBC’s Disruptor 50 companies, and featured as an Innovation and Disruption leader by CBS News. Airspace has the support of leading investors such as Telstra Ventures, HarbourVest Partners, Defy Partners, DBL Partners, and Scale Ventures. To date the company has raised more than $140m.

The company is growing rapidly and serving more places around the world than ever before. We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals who want to make an IMPACT every day to help us execute on our mission of reshaping the world of time-critical logistics.

Who we are: We are guided by our core values: One Team, Customer Obsessed, Trust through Communication, Impactful Every day, Passionate about our Mission, and Innovative Mindset. We take these values seriously and are proud to say that by doing so, we have created a fun and engaging culture that is unrivaled in our industry. Airspacers deliver outstanding service to customers, are passionate about their work, and are dedicated to growing the business while having fun.

What we do: We integrate technology, people, and services through an automated software platform that gives our clients a true end-to-end shipping solution. Our proprietary platform eliminates the transparency issues that our customers have suffered through for decades while saving them precious time by expediting the dispatch of time-critical delivery services.

What is the “Dedicated Driver” service?  Airspace partners with leading U.S. Medical Device companies to ensure life-saving equipment is transported safely and securely to hospitals across the country. Our dedicated drivers are the critical link between warehouses and operating rooms, delivering essential surgical tools in real time. Every delivery matters. Every driver represents Airspace.

About the role: We are looking for a Driver Onboarding & Training Manager to build, own, and deliver our Dedicated Driver training program from the ground up. This is not a facilitation-only role; you will design the curriculum, build the content, partner with recruiting to ensure every new driver is set up for success, and travel into the field to validate that training is landing correctly. You'll report to our Senior Manager of Dedicated Driver Operations and work closely with Regional Managers, recruiting, and our revenue team to ensure our drivers are trained, compliant, and performing at the highest level from day one.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and own the end-to-end Dedicated Driver training program, including new driver onboarding curriculum, role-specific modules, and ongoing retraining content for both online and in-field delivery
  • Partner with recruiting to integrate training into the onboarding process, ensuring every driver is fully prepared before their first shift
  • Develop scenario-based training content using real examples so drivers learn how to think, not just what to do
  • Travel into the field (up to 25% of the time) to deliver in-person training, validate program effectiveness, and ensure standards are being met at the warehouse and customer level
  • Conduct driver performance evaluations to assess training effectiveness and iterate content and delivery based on results
  • Identify drivers who are at risk and develop targeted retraining or performance improvement plans in partnership with Regional Managers
  • Maintain and update training documentation, SOPs, and resources as processes evolve
  • Partner with Driver Ops Managers and the Revenue team on quality and performance initiatives

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in training, program development, or instructional design; preferably in logistics, transportation, or a field-based environment
  • Proven ability to build training programs from scratch; not just deliver existing content
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect with drivers, managers, and customers alike
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to support field training and validate program delivery
  • Action-oriented with a demonstrated ability to own problems and drive solutions
  • Comfortable with technology and experience with learning management systems, Google Suite, and Salesforce a plus
  • Positive, people-first attitude with a genuine commitment to driver success

Compensation: $70K - $75K salary + bonus opportunity

Core Values:

  • We are One Team. We believe we all accomplish more when we are working together.
  • We make an Impact. We are determined to have a positive influence on our environment, our customers, our industry, and our world.
  • We are Passionate. We care deeply about our mission and are not afraid to raise the bar.
  • We are Transparent. We pride ourselves on having open, honest, and sincere communication with our team and customers.
  • We are Innovative. We never settle and are always striving to improve our product, service, and ourselves.
