Mission:
To monitor and supervise underground operations at the level of the normal course of the mining operation cycle, in coordination with the other teams of the mine management, in accordance with corporate standards, through the preparation of drilling and loading plans aimed at complying with the legal limits of vibration emissions according to NP 2074, as well as a constant improvement of safety best practices, minimizing the number of accidents, costs, and equipment downtime, fulfilling the objectives of Management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the “General Standards of Safety, Health, Environment and Communities” in the areas and facilities assigned to the Department, in order to comply with current legislation, ensure proper working conditions, and minimize the impacts of Boliden Somincor's activities on both the environment and the associated communities.
- Preparation of drilling and loading diagrams for benches, horizontal and vertical development, electric holes, filling holes, unblocking holes, among others.
- Monitoring and control of vibrations in accordance with the applicable standards.
- Monitor the execution of work at the bottom of the mine, in order to audit the applicability of the prepared diagrams.
- Monitor and analyze the results after drilling and shots.
- Weekly analysis and forecast of explosive material consumption, according to the estimates of the production plan.
- Efficient use of explosives.
- Execution and monitoring in the mine test pit of various tests, whose purpose is the optimization of the drilling and loading process.
- Preparation of reports for the start of bench projects and subsequently, final reconciliation of the same.
- Analysis and optimization of all parameters inherent to drill & blast operations such as fragmentation, specific consumption and drilling, overbreak, underbreak and final recovery, dilution, vibrations emitted by the blasts, among others.
- Monitor the execution of work in the pit, in order to audit the applicability and feasibility of the documents that regulate this work.
- Support other activities carried out by the mine's production areas, proposing viable solutions in terms of safety and optimization of methodologies with the aim of reducing costs and execution time.
Requirements:
- Higher Education at the Bachelor's degree level in the area of Mining Engineering or similar.
- Minimum professional experience of 5 years.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in calculating/sizing explosive charges for blasting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of Deswik.
- Monitoring and analysis of vibrations. Knowledge of NP 2074; Active Explosives License.
