Domestic Reader:

Job Responsibilities:
The Application Reader for Pre-College Programs will review and prepare domestic high school student applications for the Pre-College Admissions Committee. Reading applications requires a strong sense of confidentiality and careful evaluation of academic potential and readiness for college-level experiences. Documents reviewed include, but are not limited to, high school transcripts, standardized test scores (if applicable), teacher/counselor recommendations, personal essays, and supplemental program-specific materials. Readers calculate GPAs from transcripts, assess overall academic preparation, and provide evaluative notes to support admissions decisions. Additionally, readers may assist with office projects to ensure a smooth and student-centered admissions process. This is a part-time, temporary position requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week.


Job Requirements:
Successful candidates for this position must demonstrate a strong commitment to confidentiality, student data privacy, and ethical admissions practices. The ability to evaluate high school-level coursework, extracurricular involvement, and personal essays with fairness and attention to detail is essential. Competitive candidates will hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and possess familiarity with the U.S. secondary education system. Prior experience in education, admissions, youth programs, or working with high school students is preferred. Equivalent combinations of relevant education and work experience may also be considered.


International Reader:
Job Responsibilities:
The Application Reader for Pre-College Programs (International) will review and prepare international high school student applications for the Pre-College Admissions Committee. This role requires a high level of confidentiality and cultural sensitivity when evaluating student materials from diverse educational backgrounds. Documents reviewed include, but are not limited to, high school transcripts, international credential evaluations, English language proficiency test scores, teacher/counselor recommendations, personal essays, and program-specific supplements. Readers calculate GPAs from international transcripts, taking into account varying curricula and grading systems, and provide evaluative notes to support admissions decisions. Additionally, readers may assist with office initiatives to ensure a smooth, equitable, and student-centered admissions process. This is a part-time, temporary position requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week.


Job Requirements:
Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to confidentiality, student data privacy, and ethical admissions practices. The ability to evaluate international academic records and contextualize students’ educational backgrounds is essential. Familiarity with global secondary education systems, English language proficiency measures, and cultural differences in student preparation is preferred. Competitive candidates will hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and demonstrate interest or experience in international education, admissions, youth programs, or related fields. Equivalent combinations of relevant education and work experience may also be considered.
