At our Ratingen site, you will contribute to high-performance fire protection systems by ensuring robust product definition, accurate engineering documentation, and effective configuration control across the product lifecycle.
Role Overview
As Documentation and Configuration Analyst, you will be responsible for detailed drawing creation, 3D modeling, and configuration management in support of engineering projects. You will act as a key supporting element between Project Engineering and Component Engineering, ensuring compliance with specifications, requirements and customer commitments.
In this role, you will oversee drawing setup, product definition, and configuration control activities while supporting RLPM compliance, milestone tracking, and Gate reviews. You will also contribute to engineering documentation standardization and continuous improvement initiatives for upcoming programs.
This position is ideal for an established and productive professional contributor with a strong technical background and experience in CAD, CAE, and PDM environments.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan, create, revise, and maintain detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings using CAD systems (2D & 3D)
Develop and maintain 3D models and associated engineering documentation
Complete and refine layout drawings in accordance with standard drafting practices
Translate engineering sketches and proposal specifications into compliant design drawings
Manage configuration control and support RLPM compliance, milestone tracking, and Gate reviews
Coordinate document release and change requests within PDM systems
Ensure consistency of technical documents and specifications with overall project objectives
Conduct design analysis on components and assemblies to ensure cost efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability
Implement and document design changes resulting from tolerance issues, manufacturing constraints, or customer requirements
Design new components and improve existing products and processes
Utilize data management systems to track assignments and report progress

Basic Qualifications
Technical degree or comparable qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
Professional experience in drafting services, product definition, or engineering documentation
Experience with CAD (2D & 3D), CAE and PDM systems
Knowledge of configuration control and change management processes
Understanding of ISO 9001 and documented information requirements
Fluent in German and English
Preferred Qualifications
Theoretical to advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical component specification
Experience working within structured product lifecycle management (PLM/RLPM) frameworks
Familiarity with aerospace, fire protection systems, or regulated industrial environments
Strong attention to detail and structured working approach
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and project teams
