Job Purpose
The Divisional Projects Engineer leads key projects and change initiatives within the Liquids Division, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards. Reporting to the Divisional Engineering Projects Manager, the role combines project management, technical leadership, and design coordination, requiring expertise in technology validation, lifecycle cost analysis (TCO), and Early Equipment Management (EEM) principles for sustainable results.
Your responsibilities will be
- Lead and manage change projects in operations, ensuring alignment across all relevant functional areas.
- Apply best-practice project management techniques to deliver change effectively and efficiently, engaging sponsors and stakeholders throughout.
- Coach site-based project management resources in scoping, design, execution, and change management principles.
- Define clear project scope, costs, timing, and deliverables, ensuring technical integrity and design quality.
- Evaluate alternative technical solutions, layouts, and automation concepts using AutoCAD or equivalent tools.
- Work with business sponsors and functional experts to articulate project business cases and benefits, integrating TCO and payback analyses.
- Manage change control, assess root causes, and evaluate impacts on risk, cost, and interdependencies.
- Share lessons learned and promote best practices across the engineering and project management community.
- Organize project steering committees, delivery teams, and SMEs in alignment with project sponsors.
- Collaborate with Group PMO to ensure divisional projects follow group processes.
- Develop communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
Skills and education we are looking for
- Experienced operations professional with an engineering bias and a proven track record in large project delivery (5 years of experience).
- Expertise in plant and process design/management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent) for mechanical and electrical layout coordination.
- Familiarity with EEM principles and ability to integrate them into project execution.
- Capability to conduct and interpret TCO and lifecycle cost analyses.
- Hands-on engineering design experience in large projects.
- Knowledge of change management and project management principles.
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies and management systems (advantageous).
- Experience in multi-site or multi-regional environments.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
