Key Purpose: The Divisional Head (Deputy Director), Shared Services Finance will reimagine and lead the next-generation finance shared services model for the University. As a senior finance leader, the role will shape a future-ready, insight-driven and digitally enabled finance organisation, balancing scale, standardisation and control with agility, innovation and stakeholder-centricity. The role partners closely with the Office of Finance, and the stakeholders to position Shared Services Finance as a strategic enabler.
This role also leads the shift from function-based accounting to an integrated process ownership model. You will oversee the evolution of our financial operations into streamlined P2P, OTC, and RTR workflows.

Responsibilities:
Define and execute the vision and strategy for Finance Shared Services, driving standardisation, simplification, and scalability. Lead a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence.
Oversee end-to-end finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and audit requirements.
Drive automation, robotics, and analytics initiatives. Partner with IT to implement and optimise finance systems, championing data-driven insights.
Lead, motivate, and develop the finance team. Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture and manage change for new processes and technologies.
Strengthen internal controls and risk management. Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and regulations, partnering with audit and regulators.
Requirements:
Relevant degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
Experience in digitally transforming end‑to‑end finance process models (P2P, OTC, RTR) in a shared services or complex organisation.
Practical, technical, and specialized knowledge in finance operations and compliance. Strong digital literacy skills.
Significant experience in finance leadership roles, with a track record of driving operational excellence and innovation.
Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to manage change effectively and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
