Job Description:

Roll Overview - Top level consultant that is known as an expert within the engineering discipline. Sets functional standards, policies, procedures, systems, and designs to be implemented and executed within the facilities and by other engineering resources. Leads functional teams and projects and serves as a resource for best practices and quality. Manages the most complex projects from conception through estimation, approval, procurement, installation and startup/commissioning while monitoring progress and performance against the project plan. Acts as a mentor to junior engineering colleagues. Typically possesses Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 8-12 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serves as an expert within the engineering function and applies knowledge and existing methodologies to solve the most complex engineering problems.
  • Provides support to improve equipment and process productivity, cost efficiency, reliability and safety by leading improvement initiatives and potentially developing and implementing training.
  • Leads projects for process improvements including the initial design, coordination with equipment manufacturers and cross-functional teams, procurement, installation, and implementation.
  • Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned engineering projects. Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications. 
  • Interacts daily with customers to interpret their needs and requirements and representing them in the field.
  • Oversees development of detailed project engineering packages by directing consultants and internal engineering colleagues in preparing project drawings and specifications.
  • Monitors and maintains current engineering knowledge in developing technologies and practices.
  • Acts as a mentor to junior engineering colleagues.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


 

Education and Experience 

  • Engineering Degree (or equivalent) is required and 8-12 years of experience. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • PMP, CAPM, or comparable project management certification desired.
  • Paper Industry is a plus

Knowledge and Skills

  • Possesses extensive knowledge of engineering, including new product development, mechanical engineering, electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and component design, chemical concepts, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to work with minimal guidance.
  • Possesses strong problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software (e.g. CAD).

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $128,100.00 - $218,200.00. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $140,000.00 to $160,000.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
