Are you a commercially driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships, growing revenue and making a real impact in your territory?

Smiths Concrete, is looking for a District Sales Manager to join the team on a fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave. This is a highly visible role with real ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to influence performance in a key geographic area.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the heart of the business. You’ll be responsible for achieving profitable sales, protecting and growing market share, and strengthening customer relationships to ensure Smiths Concrete’s position in the market is optimised.

You won’t just be selling a product you’ll be providing tailored commercial solutions, working closely with customers to understand their requirements and delivering value through service, insight and expertise.

Key Accountabilities

  • Full responsibility for the commercial performance and development of the concrete business within a defined geographic area
  • Build, maintain and deepen strong, long‑term customer relationships, ensuring Heidelberg Materials remains the partner of choice
  • Actively grow the customer base, combining excellent service with strong sales capability and innovative, customer‑focused solutions
  • Work collaboratively with the wider commercial and operational teams to deliver seamless customer experiences
  • Report, forecast and analyse sales performance, using market intelligence to identify opportunities and respond to competitive activity
  • Proactively seek out growth opportunities while maintaining profitable margins

About You

  • A proven track record in a sales or commercial role, ideally within construction, building materials, concrete or a related sector
  • Naturally relationship‑focused — confident engaging with customers at all levels
  • Commercially astute, data‑driven and motivated by delivering results
  • Able to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment
  • Full UK driving licence
