Our current portfolio in Indonesia includes work to support healthcare providers and communities in preventing and responding to communicable and non-communicable diseases, advance digital health innovation, and address global health security priorities.
PATH seeks a District Project Officer—based in Maros District of South Sulawesi Province—to support implementation of Phase 2 of the Primary Health Care (PHC) Transformation in Indonesia project, which will include the expansion of project activities to Maros District. The project aims to strengthen cadre skills to implement ILP (integrasi layanan primer/ILP), offer life-course-based PHC screening and referral services, including expanding community-based health screening; promote the use of digital tools to facilitate PHC service delivery and puskesmas-community linkages; and create an enabling and continuous learning environment to enhance cadre and puskesmas skills and further strengthen community PHC delivery.
The Maros District Program Officer will provide support to the Maros District Coordinator to operationalize day-to-day project activities in Maros District and support coordination with external partners in Maros, including but not limited to the District Health Office (DHO) and Provincial Health Office (PHO). This position will report to the Project Coordinator. People from minority groups and individuals with disabilities and special needs are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
Provide operational and technical support to the Maros District Coordinator and Project Coordinator during project start-up activities in Maros, including assisting with scoping activities and synthesizing baseline data collection findings.
Assist the Maros District Coordinator with developing and tracking timely activity implementation against district quarterly workplans, and support the preparation of financial, operational, and administrative documents required to activity delivery, with oversight from the Maros District Coordinator and national finance and administrative staff.
Provide support to the Maros District Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer by following up with district-level puskesmas, sub-partners, and other entities, to ensure timely submission of required data and reporting inputs, as well as the necessary technical materials and documentation.
Participate in district-level supportive supervision, mentoring, and monitoring visits to ensure community-level and puskesmas project activities are proceeding smoothly and with quality and to support the District Coordinator to compile observations and needs or gaps observed during visits for sharing with other project teams.
Participate in project-wide weekly update meetings and support the Maros District Coordinator to develop written weekly progress updates from Maros.
Support the District Coordinator in securing required district-level approvals and maintaining necessary documentation.
Contribute to project technical documents, reports, and presentations as requested.
Assist in setting up team meetings and following up team action items/assignments.
Perform other tasks as required.
Required Experiences and Skills:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of job-related experience in public health, health sciences, and medicine.
Understanding of Indonesia's primary health care health system, including knowledge of the community health system; experience supporting PHC or community health systems strengthening is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a teamwork environment, with solid interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Field-oriented and comfortable with a team approach to programming
Excellent judgment and strong initiative.
Strong oral and written proficiencies in Bahasa Indonesia; English language fluency desired.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Candidates currently living in Maros are preferred.
