District Finance Manager - French Speaking

Inside the Role

As a DFM, the primary role is to effectively manage relationships with Sales Partners, Dealers and OEM colleagues. In addition, the DFM is responsible for achieving acquisition targets that support retail and wholesale portfolio growth. Management of annual return targets and finance penetration are key to driving profitable results in the designated territory. The DFM also plays a key role in maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure a high level of service and dealer satisfaction

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTFS

Finance Penetration – Work with dealers and customers to finance the sale of Freightliner, Western Star and Thomas Built Bus vehicles. Actively work with dealer personnel, facilitate credit packages and prospect opportunities. (40%)

Wholesale – Support dealers with a variety of wholesale offerings to manage their business. Develop a full understanding of products, annual reviews and the proposal of additional credit lines. Work with internal stakeholders to maintain and develop further wholesale business. (15%)

OEM Relationship – Develop relationships with DTNA On-Highway and Vocational District Managers. Work with colleagues to better support dealers and increase finance penetration through joint customer strategies. (10%)

Territory Ownership – Effectively manage all dealers and customers in the assigned district. Own relationships, be the face of the company and take responsibility for all aspects of portfolio growth and maintenance. Achieve financial targets and effectively manage through assigned budget and limits of authority. (20%)

Support internal departments, Credit, Funding, Collections, Customer Service and Dealer Credit. Actively assist in training, best practice sharing and acting as the voice of the assigned district. Drive CSI and DSI results by connecting dealer / customer needs with internal departments. (15%)

What You Should Bring to DTFS

  • BS/BA and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak French.
  • Progressive experience in the financial services industry in commercial or equipment lending.
  • Remote work experience, working independently.
  • Understanding of truck applications, use and related industries.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Strong understanding of credit and dealer credit processes.
  • Strong understanding of commercial financing – retail, lease, wholesale, mortgages, capital lending. Sales experience, territory management is critical.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial truck market in Canada – Class 8, 6/7 and Bus.
