Job Summary:

Geisinger is in discussions with our community EMS partners as we explore ways to provide consistent coverage for patient transportation and emergency services. We are focused on ensuring continuity of care for our patients and meeting increasing demand for higher-level care in our western region.
Geisinger Emergency Medical Services is seeking a skilled and motivated paramedic with supervisory experience and education to be the local chief and leader for new operations in the Juniata and Mifflin County area. This opportunity comes with growth potential

Coordinates, assures, and prioritizes daily activities and personnel involved in performing field operations. Uses independent judgment within the framework of established policies and procedures in decisions that influence operations. Serves as a pre-hospital provider and a professional role model for other employees.

Job Duties:

  • Assist management in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures.
  • Assist in organizational strategic planning and subsequent plan implementation to benefit the long-term survival of the organization.
  • Supervises and coordinates daily activities of field operations employees and resources.
  • Facilitates effective communication between provider staff and leadership.
  • Back-fills incidental vacancies in Field Provider schedule until a replacement provider is located to assure proper staffing.
  • Assures all operational scheduling is adequate and appropriate,
  • Actively participates in and oversees the orientation and training of new personnel by other providers.
  • Ensures the quality delivery of all field services offered to the community.
  • Identifies the need, coordinates, prioritizes and assures remedial training of personnel.
  • Assist in investigating, analyzing and resolving personnel and operational problems or complaints.
  • Interprets, implements and uniformly enforces compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Prioritizes, delegates and provides supportive follow-up of special assignments to field providers.
  • Effectively communicates needs and requests for new or updated equipment and organizational development needs.
  • Participates in the process of staff development and personnel actions including discipline in compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Plans, implements, and completes special projects such as the implantation of new procedures, integration of new equipment, services, treatment modalities, and other operational changes.

Education:

Graduate from Specialty Training Program- (Required), Associate's Degree- (Preferred)

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year-Managerial/Supervisory (Required), Minimum of 3 years-Related work experience (Required)

Certification(s) and License(s):

Certified Paramedic - Default Issuing Body
