JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Distribution Operations Analyst on the Distribution Enablement team is responsible for supporting CNA regions, business units, underwriters, and external distribution partners, including brokers, across distribution and agency operations. Collaborates with Underwriting resources to educate them on contracts, applications and processes that impact agency experience and production. Partners with Underwriting resources and Brokers to understand and analyze agency issues and develop solutions to provide high quality internal and external service and experience.
This is a hybrid position working 2-3 days per week from our Chicago office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provide customer service for agencies, regions, UT/UA/underwriters and business units on coding, agency data, or reporting for specific agencies. As required, will directly engage with broker and agents to understand the issue, determine the best course of action and resolve the situation in partnership with Underwriting resources.
2. Support Additional Compensation drafting process by verifying coding, key contacts, payment addresses, and ensuring calculations are reviewed. Provide reports and high level analysis for regional leaders or agencies as directed to indicate progress and explain calculations to drive understanding of additional compensation agreements. Participate in the annual audit of contracts to reflect changes due to agency results, mergers & acquisitions or business strategy.
3. Train and support Underwriting Administrative Assistants in leveraging supplemental compensation contracts, progress reports and statements and educating them on how the contracts work and how to interpret the reports.
4. Responsible for partnering with agents/brokers and Underwriting resources to accurately build reporting and compensation hierarchies for our distribution partners which are impacted by M&A activity, dispositions or relocations. Collaborate with the Operations Agency Team to ensure the strategic changes are accurately reflected in coding hierarchies.
5. Support Agency Team in obtaining decisions from Regional Leaders when there is a need for key information from mergers & acquisitions, contracting, agency terminations or refreshing key agency attributes.
6. Update Salesforce to establish new relationships, transfer key intelligence for consolidated relationships, or archive terminated relationships. Keep Salesforce current for contacts, distribution team assignments, transferring open opportunities and partner with the Salesforce team to close out pipeline, opportunities or sales calls.
7. Resolve statutory licensing/appointment escalations internally and externally including phone calls to the broker carrier licensing support teams. As needed, engage with CNA Law Department to refine messaging and solve more complex problems.
8. Participate in shaping business processes for agency maintenance and provide insight and recommendations for special projects involving agency coding, contracting or strategy changes.
9. As required, will collaborate with FP&A, Technology, Legal and Operations to resolve issues and revise processes.
10. Will be viewed as a subject matter expert for supplemental compensation contracts and reporting hierarchies.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
1. Knowledge of the insurance industry and the company's goals and objectives related to agencies, field operations and underwriting.
2. Detail oriented with good analytical skills and desire to learn and optimize processes
3. Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines
4. Customer Service mentality with good collaborative and communication skills (written and oral) with ability to facilitate meetings of low complexity
5. Ability to work independently
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite as well as other business-related software. Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree, in related discipline or equivalent experience
2. Typically, two years of relevant work experience.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $47,000 to $78,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
