Distribution Expeditor

Job Description:

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE: (brief overview of key focus of position)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Distribution Expeditor to support our distribution activities by ensuring the timely delivery of critical components, materials, and services. The Distribution Expeditor will work closely with our warehouses and stock locations, whilst also providing our internal teams with updates on shipping statuses, resolve delays, and maintain compliance with international standards. This role is essential in maintaining aircraft support for both our Oil and Gas and Search and Rescue operations within the region and will work closely with those internal stakeholders who maintain them.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with warehouse teams to expedite materials and packages out of our stocking locations.
  • Participate in the vetting of goods and assessing how they can travel both domestically and globally.
  • Prioritise workloads and adopt continuous improvement working practices.
  • Be able to adopt and champion safe working practices and be responsible for hazard reporting and control.
  • Be the focal point between warehouses and the central distribution team.
  • Be prepared to offer support to the wider distribution team as and when required.
  • Ensuring accurate data is recorded and updated at all times and in line with departmental, and regulatory procedures.
  • Must be prepared to work with the wider Supply Chain functions.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and planning teams to prioritize urgent or critical items.
  • Identify supply chain risks and escalate issues to management for resolution.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS: (minimum education requirements, key skills and experience)

Experience:

  • Experience in expediting, supply chain, and/or procurement within the aerospace or aviation industry.
  • Experience with working in a warehouse and preparing cargo for domestic and international transport.
  • A broad understanding on the workings of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and demonstrate a proficiency in a ERP system(s) (e.g. SAP).
  • Must demonstrate a can-do attitude with a desire to learn and adapt in the role.
  • A self-starter who is self-motivated and can work under pressure and under their own initiative.
  • Knowledge of international logistics, customs procedures, and Incoterms will be an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Dangerous goods certification (or willing to work towards)
  • Forklift certification (desirable)

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily warehouse and office-based in our Kintore base with visits to Dyce expected. Hybrid working is not available for this role.
  • May be required to work flexible working hours to accommodate global suppliers and time zones.
