JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Work Shift: (Monday - Friday) 7:00a - 3:30p
Summary of the Job:
Inventories supplies on the Nursing units with the aid of a handheld computer tablet to maintain established PAR levels. Clerk is responsible for delivering and stocking nursing areas accurately and efficiently. Maintains crash carts with stocking and expirations. Inventories nursing units daily to determine needed supplies. Utilizes handheld computer to determine correct quantities for replenishment. Downloads information into the MMIS and generates a “pick ticket.” Fills all orders generated from the pick ticket and totes and delivers to appropriate area. Enters all issues into the MMIS. Fills all special requests. Transports supplies to assigned nursing units. Checks expiration dates on all supplies in the Central Supply Storeroom and on Nursing units weekly to ensure there are no expired items. Stocks appropriate levels of stock on each nursing unit, based upon established PAR levels. Communicates incorrect PAR levels to MM manager. Verifies that all items received into the Central Inventory have been received into the MMIS. Conducts cycle and perpetual inventory counts weekly. Notifies Materials Management Coordinator of any stock outs by use of the daily stock out list and other discrepancies as they occur.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma. Must be able to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions. Good interpersonal & computer skills needed. Commitment to quality control when performing counts & expired supplies
Preferred Qualifications: Healthcare product knowledge preferred. Hospital experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting up to 50 pounds is required, with the exception of lifting overhead limited to 5 pounds. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) – lifting, pushing/pulling, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%)– carrying, climbing (stairs, ladders, poles, etc.), balancing, reaching, handling/feeling
Occasionally (1%-33%)– crouching
