Lumentum Holdings is seeking an experienced individual contributor to drive our standards activities and standards strategy.  In this critical role, you will define and lead strategy and standards across all Lumentum Holdings’ business units spanning optical components, optical modules, switching, and transport.  You will define Lumentum’s interest inside organizations such as OIF, OCP, IEEE, and various MSA organizations and be responsible for defining and implementing Lumentum’s standards strategy.   You will act as a leader in the industry representing Lumemtum at external forums and work with peers, customers, and collaborators to mold standards based on internal strategic objectives.  This is a senior role with visibility across business units and into the executive team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Owns Lumentum Datacom, Telecom, Switching standards strategy.
  • Represents Lumentum externally in standards forums, speaking on behalf of the company’s interests.
  • Works with peers, customers, collaborators to implements Lumentum’s standards objectives.
  • Covers emerging standards in adjacent markets such as PCIe, UCIe, as well as optical standards.

Education

  • MS, PhD, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or related field.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in optical technology, including experience in optical components, optical modules, optical switches across multiple end user applications.
  • Previous experience with electrical standardization for applications like host side optical module interfaces.
  • Strong relationships in the current standards bodies as well as Hyperscalers.
  • Ability to define a drive strategy in standards bodies, previous experience serving as standards chair highly desired.
  • Experience with data communication protocols (Ethernet, PCIe, etc)
  • Strong understanding of high speed SerDes technology.
  • Excellent understanding of different modulation formats such as PAM4, Coherent.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills.

Pay Range:

P90-USA-1 :$164,650.00 - $235,200.00
