Job Summary: You will serve as Director of Undersea Warfare (USW) Command and Control (C2) systems Of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.

Major Duties:

  • You will oversee a variety of research and development activities at NUWCDIVNPT, including leading Command and Control initiatives, DEVSECOPS, and integration efforts across USW Systems and payloads.
  • You will develop execution plans for command and control systems and architecture across a diverse spectrum of programs and sponsors focused on interoperability, schema, logic and source to destination communication paths.
  • You will directly participate in laboratory activities by providing direction and oversight of all technical work, actively participating in concept development, critiquing designs and implementations, and tracking progress.
  • You will provide technical guidance and direction to research and development and In-Service Engineering teams involved in highly complex work of national significance.
  • You will lead and assist in managing and developing the USW Command and Control workforce including advising on required training, facilities, equipment, and funds across the command and in cooperation with other Navy and/or DoD activities.
  • You will serve as an expert in command and control kill chains, gap analysis, risk analysis, and supply chain analysis.
  • You will engage with operational commands and development commands to understand requirements, gaps and operational needs for USW Command and Control.

National Leadership in USW Command & Control Architectures Ability to provide authoritative national-level technical leadership for undersea warfare (USW) command and control (C2) by setting enterprise direction and architectural standards, ensuring interoperability across programs and partners, and integrating architectures, decision authority, and coordination approaches across multiple USW mission areas and operational constructs involving manned, unmanned, and shore-based forces. TQ#2. Delivery and Transition of Mission-critical USW C2 Capabilities Ability to plan, lead, and technically supervise undersea warfare (USW) command and control (C2) research, development, prototyping, integration, and test activities, and to transition those capabilities into sustained operational use by guiding multidisciplinary teams, managing technical risk, and ensuring implementation and employment outcomes across stakeholders.
