Job Summary:
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and dispatching drivers, work crews, equipment, and service vehicles to ensure timely and efficient operations. This role supports the conveyance of materials, freight, or passengers, as well as installation, service, and emergency repair activities outside the business location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch drivers, crews, and equipment for daily routes and service calls.
- Communicate assignments using radio, telephone, or computer systems.
- Monitor work progress and adjust schedules as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
- Compile and maintain accurate records, statistics, and reports related to dispatch activities.
- Respond promptly to emergency service requests and coordinate resources accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or dispatching preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and dispatch software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Previous experience in dispatching or transportation operations is a plus.
