Job Summary
Position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support of virtual and remote patient care services across the Memorial Hermann Health System. This role ensures high-quality, patient centered virtual care in alignment with organizational goals
Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of professional nursing required. Master’s degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current state of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
- Professional certification in clinical area or management within one year of hire preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Five (5) years of progressive clinical experience
- Three (3) years of increasing levels of leadership responsibility
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in an evolving healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of productivity, financial operations, and reporting systems
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Directs 24/7 virtual patient care operations, ensuring accomplishment of organizational mission and objectives.
- Leads systemwide initiatives to advance clinical innovation and excellence in virtual care delivery.
- Defines and monitors outcome measures associated with virtual patient care programs.
- Develops and executes strategic vision for virtual care delivery in collaboration with system leaders.
- Partners with nursing professional practice to develop and implement training and virtual care delivery models.
- Maintains clinical competency.
- Recruits, trains, and develops team members to support virtual patient care initiatives.
- Manages department staff with accountability for the performance and results of the team.
- Establishes departmental scope of service, goals, and strategic plans.
- Evaluates new developments and emerging technologies in the field and incorporates them into service delivery.
- Considers the diverse needs of each patient through the entire continuum of care, providing and ensuring the highest level of virtual patient care according to established service standards.
- Collaborates with providers, peers and interdisciplinary leaders in evaluation of virtual care programs, process improvement, desired client-centered outcomes, and organizational outcomes.
- Ensures that revenue, expenses, contribution margin, and FTE’s meet or exceed budget.
- Prepares budget and related reports, forecasts expenses, and addresses negative variances.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, privacy, and security requirements for virtual care delivery.
- Ensures safe virtual care to patients; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
