We are looking for a senior executive (Director) to join our Upstream research team. Our oil and gas sector teams are located around the world and deliver research and consulting projects based on our assessment and valuation of thousands of individual assets. Together, we work with a range of clients, including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks, and institutional investors.

Role Purpose

  • To contribute to the strategic priorities and objectives of your region/sector/specialist area
  • To establish and maintain close working relationships with a range of senior/executive level clients across the Latin America region and to maintain currency on client priorities and enhance WoodMac's reputation for excellence
  • To support junior and middle managers in delivering excellence in overall team performance
  • To help recruit, develop and retain the right people and establish open, supportive and dynamic team environments which deliver success
  • To collaborate effectively with commercial colleagues in Latin America to build a more lucrative business in the region
  • To be accountable for delivering industry leading Upstream research
  • To be accountable for your team collaborating effectively with other sectors/specialist areas,  such that there is close alignment on cross-team or pan-sectoral issues, and client expectations are addressed
  • To be a role model for WM values and culture, nurturing good practice and seeking continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributes to strategic planning and decision-making within business area, ensuring that programmes and objectives are aligned with strategic goals
  • Accountable for quality and effectiveness of content or work programmes in Latin America
  • To play an integral role in expanding our commercial business in Latin America, working very closely with commercial colleagues from the Sales and Consulting teams
  • To build and maintain a strong network within our Latin America clients and prospects
  • To contribute to our regional and global thought leadership research efforts
  • To communicate and share our industry leading research and opinions with executive clients and prospects.

About you

  • MSc or equivalent level qualification
  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant, professional experience in the Upstream sector with exposure across the value chain, from exploration to production
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the oil and gas markets of the Latin America region
  • Extensive knowledge of the global energy industry and the Energy Transition
  • Deep experience in stakeholder engagement and management
  • Strong blend of technical skills and experience and demonstrable commercial acumen
  • A track record in demonstrating differentiated values and behaviours
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable curiosity with a track record of impactful innovation
  • Excellent data reading, manipulation and analysis skills.

Expectations

  • We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be required to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment. Full-time remote working is not an option for this role.
  • Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
