The Director – Unit Financial Administration will direct and be accountable for the overall financial reporting and processes of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. The position will work collaboratively with Division and Department leadership, University of Louisville Physicians, and other University leadership, including Sponsored Programs and the Clinical Trials Unit. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve financial operations, including financial planning and projections, analysis, accounting, and decision support. This position will delegate and supervise the work of Division staff supporting financial activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct all financial and business services activities for the Division, including clinical, research, and training activities.
Maintain purchasing protocols, financial records, perform comprehensive reconciliation of accounts and oversee accounts receivable for the division.
Prepare, analyze, and forecast division budget and financial statements consistent with internal and external compliance and in support of the division’s strategic goals.
Oversee all financials related to grant and research activities as part of CERID, including initiating invoices, tracking milestones, reconciling research accounts, and serving as a point of contact for Sponsored Programs Accounting staff Supervise Financial Coordinator and other administrative staff in performing financial processes including billing, payments, and record keeping.
Prepare budget estimates, monitor expenditures, and direct budget meetings with Division faculty and staff, University grants and contracts staff in identifying potential problem areas, and implementing necessary budget changes. Member of the leadership team responsible for assisting the Division Chief in meeting current budgetary commitments and future obligations.
Responsible for managing funding sources of all employees. Monitor faculty productivity and assist Chief with annual review of faculty effort.
Attend regular Division and Center faculty, staff, research, and financial meetings; represent Gastroenterology and Liver Research at Department of Medicine and University administrative and financial meetings.
Other Duties as assigned.

Target Compensation Maximum:
$143,193.00Target Compensation Minimum:
$95,428.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
