Established in 2020, MUFG Global Service Private Limited (MGS) is 100% subsidiary of MUFG having offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai. MGS India has been set up as a Global Capability Centre / Centre of Excellence to provide support services across various functions such as IT, KYC/ AML, Credit, Operations etc. to MUFG Bank offices globally. About the Role

Position Title: Head of Third Party Risk Management GCC

Job Profile

Purpose of Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to build out our Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) delivery team within MUFG Global Service (MGS), our Global Capability Center (GCC).

This senior leadership role provides a platform to contribute to the definition of the TPRM operating model, and then to build and lead a high performing team to manage the transition and ongoing delivery of services on behalf of our teams across EMEA and the APAC region initially. The role will broaden to cover other regions in MUFG through subsequent phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop a service function with TPRM capability to support the APAC and EMEA regions and execute the bank's global TPRM strategy from MUFG Global Services (“MGS”), ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and regulatory requirements. This team will be a sub function of the TPRM teams that exists in the EMEA and APAC regions. Potential roll out of the function to support other regions in later phases.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of TPRM professionals within the India GCC, fostering expertise and professional growth.
  • Program Management: Establish, implement, and mature the end-to-end TPRM lifecycle, including vendor onboarding, due diligence (security, compliance, financial, operational), ongoing due diligence, and termination processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the TPRM program meets all relevant regulations and compliance standards, serving as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors and regulators. The incumbent in this role will work with the regions to tailor central services to support local compliance with the respective regulations.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Oversee the development and execution of robust risk assessment methodologies. Drive the implementation of controls and mitigation plans for identified risks, ensuring appropriate risk appetite levels are maintained.
  • Governance & Reporting: Implement a strong governance framework for third-party risk. Provide regular, executive-level reporting on the bank's third-party risk posture, key risks, and program effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Procurement, Legal, Compliance, IT security, and business units globally to embed a strong risk culture and ensure consistent application of the TPRM framework.
  • Technology & Automation: Drive the selection and implementation of TPRM technologies and tools to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and scalability of the program.

Candidate Profile

Skills & Knowledge

(e.g., Capability, Traits required for the role)

  • Experience of leading a Finance service GCC, including build out of teams, management of service transitions, and ongoing delivery of services within a regulated environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong understanding of TPRM and global regulatory environment, with specific experience of regulations impacting the different regions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of managing stakeholder relationships across multiple geographies.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving results and achieving operational excellence through process optimization and digital transformation.
  • Ability to provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Technical Skills:
    • Deep expertise in TPRM methodologies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
    • Strong understanding of risk domains including cyber security, operational resilience, compliance, and data privacy.
    • Experience with TPRM software solutions and GRC platforms.

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CRISC, CTPRP, CISA, PMP) are highly desirable.

Length & Type of Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in risk management, audit, compliance, or third-party risk management roles.
  • Minimum of 4+ years in a senior leadership or director-level position, managing teams in a shared-services, GCC, or global operations environment.
  • Extensive experience within the banking or financial services industry is mandatory, with a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting third-party relationships.
