About the Role
The Product Test Director is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the organization’s quality vision and ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient products. This leader defines enterprise test strategy, builds and mentors high-performing quality teams, and partners with Engineering, Product, and Business leadership to embed quality into every stage of the product lifecycle.
This leader will manage group of engineers through Senior Managers, drive innovation across the product lifecycle, and partner with global executives to align technology with business goals.
Principal Responsibilities
- Define, own, and execute the enterprise-wide product quality and test strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Establish standardized quality governance, testing frameworks, and best practices across product portfolios.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing, multi-location QA organization with strong succession planning.
- Oversee end-to-end test lifecycle including functional, automation, performance, regression, UAT enablement, and release readiness.
- Develop and manage test plans, capacity models, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Own quality KPIs and executive dashboards covering:
- Test coverage and execution health
- Defect density, trends, and leakage
- Automation ROI and performance baselines
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to embed quality into Agile & DevOps delivery models.
- Act as the executive escalation point for risks related to scope, requirements, infrastructure, tools, or resources.
- Lead customer governance, executive reviews, and quality audits.
- Champion CI/CD quality integration, automation acceleration, and performance engineering transformation.
Critical Skills Required
- Enterprise test strategy & quality governance design
- Leadership of large, distributed QA organizations
- Portfolio-level planning, budgeting, and delivery management
- Strong expertise in Agile, DevOps, Waterfall, Hybrid SDLCs
- Hands-on knowledge of Azure DevOps, TFS, MTM, HP ALM or similar ALM tools
- Automation strategy, framework design & ROI measurement
- Performance engineering leadership
- Metrics-driven quality management and executive reporting
- Stakeholder management, executive communication & diplomacy
- Risk management, escalation handling & decision leadership

You will be successful in this role if you have:
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering / Test Management.
- Demonstrated success operating at Director / Associate Director level managing enterprise QA portfolios.
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing QA teams across multiple programs.
- Experience driving large-scale automation, CI/CD quality integration, and performance transformation initiatives.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate quality metrics into executive insights.
- Customer-facing leader with exceptional communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
