Liberty Global

Director Technical Solutions

Bradford Full time

We’re looking for a Technical Solutions Director to join our team in Bradford or Leeds on a permanent basis. This hybrid role offers flexibility, with two days in the office and three days working remotely.

Liberty Blume is looking for a highly skilled and Technical Solutions Director to partner with our Account Executives and accelerate revenue growth. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary technical expert and product advocate throughout the sales cycle. Your core objective is to win the “technical decision” by deeply understanding a prospect’s complex business needs and crafting a compelling, value‑driven solution architecture.

This position is perfect for a strategic, tech‑passionate professional who loves solving problems and can translate sophisticated concepts into clear, impactful communication for a variety of audiences.

What will you be doing?

  • Serve as the strategic technical partner to Account Executives, shaping deal strategy on high‑priority, complex opportunities.
  • Own end‑to‑end technical delivery across onshore and offshore teams, managing up to £20m in development resources.
  • Lead executive‑level discovery to align customer objectives with secure, scalable solution designs.
  • Direct solution architecture and technical strategy across all Blume Business Solutions products, ensuring seamless integration with customer ecosystems.
  • Deliver compelling, value‑driven demonstrations and technical narratives to senior decision‑makers.
  • Oversee technical validation activities (PoCs, pilots), defining success criteria and mitigating risk to drive deal closure.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for security, architecture, and competitive differentiation.
  • Lead technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and enterprise security assessments.
  • Ensure smooth transition from sales to delivery, enabling successful implementation and adoption.
  • Influence product direction by feeding customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence into Product and Engineering.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Solutions Engineers, setting standards for technical excellence and best practices.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex or high‑risk customer engagements.
  • Drive cross‑functional alignment across Sales, Product, Engineering, Security, and Customer Success.
  • Represent field perspective in product prioritisation and go‑to‑market planning.
  • Ensure all solution designs align with company‑wide architectural, compliance, and security standards.

We tend to look for people with:

Essential

  • Solid track record in a customer‑facing technical role - such as Pre‑Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Technical Account Management, or Professional Services — ideally within a B2B SaaS or complex software environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, with a preference for GCP (experience with Azure or AWS is an advantage).
  • Understanding of API integrations, data analytics, and foundational cybersecurity principles.
  • Ability to rapidly grasp and master complex technologies, platforms, and architectures.
  • Outstanding presentation and product demonstration skills, effective with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business‑level language for executive stakeholders, while also engaging deeply with technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle and experience supporting revenue growth or influencing commercial outcomes.
  • Proven ability to connect technical capabilities to measurable business value — such as cost efficiency, risk reduction, or revenue impact.
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python and JavaScript.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., cloud, architecture, or security).
  • Experience working with GCP and enterprise platforms such as Oracle, Workday, or SAP.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary + Bonus + Equity
  • 25 days annual leave with the option to purchase 5 more.
  • Enjoy your birthday off, plus receive an additional 3 days of annual leave once you reach 5 years of service.
  • Access to wellbeing and mental health benefits such as the Calm app, personal medical, critical illness cover and dental insurance, plus many more.
