The Director Talent Management and Development is responsible for establishing the strategy, planning and deployment of talent training and development, performance, succession planning, engagement, recognition, as well as Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) programs. The director will ensure the alignment of these programs with business strategy and corporate initiatives as well as strategic human capital orientations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Provide strong leadership to foster integrated talent management for global Agropur.  

  • Develop annually the strategic plan of the organizational development sector to contribute to the achievement of the business objectives of the organization 

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve talent management processes, such as succession management, performance management and competency models 

  • Leverage best practices to identify and implement strong talent management and development programs that are culturally responsible to the needs of the organization and across sectors.  

  • Ensure the performance management process (including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback mechanisms) are aligned with fostering employee performance, productivity and accountability. 

  • Develop and maintain a robust succession planning framework and identify and nurture high-potential employees for future leadership roles. 

  • Coach, influence and advise senior management and managers to ensure the implementation of talent management strategies, systems and processes.  

  • Promote a strong culture of talent development and appreciation, and skills development by leveraging innovative and proven strategies.  

  • Design and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction and conduct employee surveys to gather insights that drive improvements.  

  • Lead DEIB initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace and ensure DEIB principles are integrated into all talent management practices. 

  • Participate in certain special projects (HC and others) and working committees.  

  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with leaders and various stakeholders to ensure that they are a credible stakeholder that is listening and looking for solutions. 

 

 Other Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Responsible for employee relations including work direction of employees, hiring, training, performance reviews, administering policies and procedures, disciplinary action, and compensation recommendations.

    • Direct implementation of departmental objectives, goals and policies.

    • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and guidelines.

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Safety Protocol

    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.

    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.

    • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications: 

 

Education Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development or related field required 

  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.  

 

Experience Required: 

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of professional experience in organizational development, training or talent management.  

  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience required 

  • Fluency in French and English required 

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing sector preferred, ideally in food processing.

  • Knowledge in business acumen, understanding of current and future policies, practices, trends, technology and information. 

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with executives, managers, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.  

  • High level of leadership skills including strategic thinking, fostering teamwork, cultivating relationships, and demonstrable experience leading teams through change.  

  • Ability to provide leadership and positively influence other team members.  

  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.  

  • Sees ahead clearly, can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately, has broad knowledge and perspective, is future oriented, can articulately paint credible pictures and visions, can create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans.
