Job Description:
Provides direction for operational and technical aspects for the Surgical Services department, and other applicable procedural areas. Responsible for budget preparation, long range planning, quality activities, performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
Principle Responsibilities
Strategy and Growth
Designs and implements strategies and initiatives to achieve operational goals and objectives
Aligns programs and services with the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategies
Partners with physician leaders to assure clinical, financial and operational excellence and growth
Oversees the implementation of systems and processes to improve operational efficiency and consistency
Analyzes surgical data and identifies opportunities for improvement
Partners with physicians and other leadership as needed to establish, plan and execute strategic initiatives
Leadership of staff
Provides overall program/service direction through development of goals
Demonstrates program management through measurable clinical outcomes, business plan targets, department budgets and goal achievement
Designs work processes and directs work performance to be in compliance with rules, regulations, accreditation standards
Creates a clear patient-centered vision and direction for departments and areas of responsibility
Ensures evidence based systems and processes are present to support best practice outcomes for care delivery/care coordination
Collaborates with other disciplines in the design, planning, implementation, evaluation and achievement of system patient care outcomes and service/program goals
Negotiates change and implements process improvement
Department operations
Drives volume growth, revenue performance, and new business opportunities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field required
Master's degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration, or related field required
5+ years in patient care experience required
5+ years progressive leadership experience within the Acute Hospital setting required
Procedural experience required
Surgical Services Leadership experience strongly preferred

Pay Range
Pay Range: $74.33 to $102.85 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.Benefit Summary
