We’re committed to helping Britain prosper, and this role offers the chance to influence how we show up for clients while driving growth and innovation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and lead a strategic portfolio of government-sector clients, ensuring high-quality coverage and coordination across product partners.
  • Identify and acquire new business opportunities, driving revenue growth through cross-selling and central initiatives across capital markets, lending and ECA.
  • Maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with regulatory and group policies.
  • Mentor and guide Associate Directors and Associates, supporting their development and day-to-day activities.
  • Partner with product and sector teams to negotiate credit terms and prepare proposals for global credit exposure.
  • Proactively manage risk across credit, operational and market areas, ensuring robust controls and oversight.

Why Lloyds Banking Group:

What you’ll need:

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior-level client relationships within the sovereign, supras and agency (SSA) community, backed by a strong network.
  • Shown success in originating and growing new business for the Governments sector across developed and emerging markets, and co-creating strategic solutions for Sovereign Wealth Funds, central banks and ministries globally.
  • Extensive financial experience in advisory, credit/lending products and financial markets (repos, bonds, deposits, FX), with familiarity in LMA documentation for lending and ISDA/NDAs for markets products.
  • Strong credit assessment skills, including negotiating complex lending structures such as RCFs and liquidity facilities, preparing proposals for global credit exposure and maintaining credibility with Credit and Investment Committees.
  • Deep understanding of risk management and control, including regulatory, operational, market, reputational and competition risks, plus KYC oversight and mitigation strategies.
  • Professional fluency in English; additional languages such as French, Arabic or other European/Asian languages are desirable but not essential.
