Job Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible to lead the sales teams for end-to-end Specialty portfolio including the focus brands in Oncology and Neurology portfolio along with Immunology sales through digital efforts.

The role holder will also be responsible for working with the Brand Managers across Oncology and Neurology to lead the launch strategy in line with Accelerate, Reach and Scale principles of Lilly.  

As the head of Sales and Marketing, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of sales and marketing while maintaining focus on the company's strategic goals, lead and hold team members accountable for a culture of integrity, facilitate the integration of functional components and establish/implement processes to foster teamwork and decision making.

Oversee all hiring and training of Specialty team members, leverage winning culture to make Lilly "an employer of choice" to attract and retain top talents to Lilly.

Key Responsibilities:

Specialty portfolio Operations for India Affiliate: Leading and managing the Affiliate business unit, which includes sales and marketing activities for Specialty.

  • Compliance: Lead and hold the country team members accountable for a culture of integrity. Have overall responsibility for meeting statutory and contractual regulatory and legal requirements. Ensure that the sales & marketing teams comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and ethical standards.

  • Execution Excellence: Make decisions within guidelines of resource availability and functional objectives. Provide leadership to day-to-day operations while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals.

  • Winning Culture: Establish trust by modeling Lilly values and performance behaviors. Engage and motivate workforce through frequent interaction, a compelling vision and clearly communicated objectives and performance measures. Own sales P&L for the country

  • Governance: Engage stakeholders in setting and delivering business objectives. Conduct governance meetings and operational reviews.

  • Team Building: Facilitate the integration of functional components and establish/implement processes to foster teamwork and decision making.

  • Talent Development: Oversee all hiring and training of team members. Leverage winning culture to make Lilly “an employer of choice” to attract and retain top talents to Lilly.  Ensure viable succession plan and effectively coach employees of different levels and functions regarding individual performance, management, and leadership. Recruit, train, motivate and assess the performance of the business unit staff, providing coaching and feedback.

  • Collaboration: Work and partner with functions (E&C,CMS, Sales Force Effectiveness, Sales Capability, HR and Finance) to achieve a seamless execution and business outcomes.

  • Team Management: Coach immediate internal team member towards achieving team and individual business objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as HCPs, customers, distributors, suppliers, regulators, and industry associations.

  • Encourage a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration within the business unit and across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare sector with mandatory prior sales/brand marketing demonstrated experience. Awareness and exposure to chronic care/specialty portfolios will be a preference

  • Minimum 8+ years of supervisory experience with demonstrated capability to lead mid-sized team. Demonstrated experience in building and managing teams

  • University degree, prefer graduate degree in science and/or business (master’s degree in business management is a plus) 

  • Ethical and compliant leadership demonstrated with strong knowledge of compliance norms and UCPMP protocols

  • Strong communication skills with ability to drive collaboration and decision making

  • Role will have extensive travel requirements with Pan India sales team (Travel ~40%)
