Director, Specialist Sales, Small and Medium Enterprises

Small business team drives opportunities within Southeast Asia to grow and defend our business in a profitable and sustainable manner. Our key activities include:
• Identifying and developing new business
• Identify and drive strategic partnerships
• Provide deep sales expertise to our partners and power their growth

The Director, Small Business Segment is part of the SME team, responsible for advancing Mastercard’s small business initiatives in Vietnam market. Based in Hanoi, this role reports to the Vice President, SME Business, Southeast Asia Division.

The individual will be responsible for supporting small business debit and credit cards performance, which includes driving strategy, sales and business development, analysis and reporting, and sharing best practices with our partners. The individual will collaborate with the Regional Product and Sales organization to achieve market targets across spend, customer acquisition, market share, and revenue growth.

The key objectives of this role are to drive growth of the Small Business debit and credit card portfolios, and achieve agreed targets in terms of new wins, spend volumes, revenue and market share through the following activities:

• Possess deep understanding of payment market landscape, products and programs from both issuer and end-user client perspective. Define strategies and recommend differentiated features and value propositions to optimize existing programs and drive new business with bank partners, third-party providers, fintechs, and the startup ecosystem.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Teams, Marketing, Loyalty, Finance, Pricing, Legal, and Customer Delivery, as well as external partners, to support product launches and go-to-market initiatives.
• Monitor the landscape of competitive products and industry trends, understand their implications on Mastercard Small Business cards portfolio, and recommend strategic adjustments as needed.
• Provide consultative sales enablement, especially during complex and cross-departmental discussions through the combination of functional skills and a thorough understanding of Mastercard's assets, positioning the organization as the best product partner for the customer.
• Champion digital enablement (e.g., digital-first solutions, contactless, tokenization) within the Small Business segment, driving adoption through best-in-class customer experiences.
• Lead effective communication of new products, services, platforms, and enhancements to internal stakeholders and external partners through structured announcements, briefings, PR, and client engagements.

All About You:
• Relevant industry experience preferred, such as payments, cards, financial services, fintech, start-up world etc.
• Strong market development & management skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast paced environment
• Track record of initiating new approaches to doing business and driving implementation to deliver tangible business results
• Strong team player with good communication and presentation skills
• Self-motivated and able to operate within a cross-functional team environment
• Skilled at management reporting and gathering insights from granular data to influence decision making
