The Director, Solution Architect is a strategic, hands-on leader who shapes the target architecture and accelerates delivery for Corporate IT platforms—Oracle Fusion Cloud (ERP & EPM), ServiceNow, Workday, Empyrean, and Finance Analytics. You will own end to end solution architecture across these domains, align investments to business outcomes, and rationalize the portfolio to reduce cost, risk, and complexity. This is an individual contributor role with broad influence across senior stakeholders, product owners, and engineering leaders—setting the architecture vision, standards, patterns, and roadmaps and ensuring execution quality.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Strategy & Leadership
- Translate business strategy into actionable, capability‑driven target architectures for HR, Finance, and Corporate Functions.
- Produce portfolio roadmaps, investment cases, and modernization paths (e.g., Oracle EBS to Oracle Fusion Cloud, on‑prem reporting to EPM and Finance Analytics, HR data unification across Workday and Empyrean).
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture to set principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns; chair or co-chair Architecture Review Boards for Corporate IT.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Lead solution architecture for high-impact initiatives; ensure designs meet functional and non‑functional requirements (security, availability, performance, DR, cost).
- Provide architectural oversight across SDLC/SAFe—from inception to production—including security reviews, threat models, NFR validation, and operational readiness.
- Guide product owners, designers, and engineers; remove ambiguity; accelerate decisions on platform choices and integration patterns.
Integration, Data, and Analytics
- Define canonical data models, data contracts, and API catalogs; enforce API-first and event streaming (e.g., Kafka) where appropriate.
- Architect high-volume, secure data movement between complex systems (Workday ↔ Oracle ERP/EPM, ServiceNow ↔ HR/Finance, Empyrean ↔ HRIS/Payroll).
- Partner with Finance Analytics/EDW teams to enable trusted financial reporting and planning (e.g., EPM/DFCS/AH alignment), with clear data lineage and governance.
Platform Operations, Security & Compliance
- Embed zero-trust and least-privilege access patterns; align IAM across SaaS platforms and cloud providers.
- Define observability standards (logging, metrics, tracing), SLOs/SLAs, and capacity planning; drive cost optimization and FinOps accountability.
- Ensure compliance controls are designed-in—including SOX controls for financial processes and GLBA/FFIEC/NIST controls for data protection.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years in Solution/Application Architecture with 5+ years in HR/Finance/Corporate IT domains.
- Deep expertise architecting on Oracle Fusion Cloud (ERP & EPM), Workday, ServiceNow, and SaaS integrations (REST/GraphQL, webhooks, iPaaS).
- Cloud architecture experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP (designing secure, scalable, cost‑efficient solutions).
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and SAFe/Lean Portfolio Management (LPM); proven ability to embed architecture standards in delivery pipelines.
- Demonstrated success leading portfolio rationalization, reference architectures, and governance without direct people management.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Financial Services/Banking domain experience (Core Banking exposure is a plus).
- Experience with Finance Analytics platforms and data integration into EPM/ERP (e.g., Accounting Hub/DFCS), and operational reporting.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, streaming, and API management (rate limiting, throttling, SLAs).
- Familiarity with ITIL/COBIT, NIST CSF, SOX/GLBA/PCI controls.
Certifications (Preferred)
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
- Cloud Architect: AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Oracle Cloud ERP/EPM, Workday Pro, ServiceNow (CSA/CAD/Architect).
