What You Will Achieve
As part of the Global Security team, you will be responsible for leading & managing a team of 20 contractors that monitors incidents globally. You will be the primary lead on assessing information, determining next steps, and directing the team to take action for incidents at the site and organization.
As a Director, it will be imperative for you to have a deep understanding of internal or external business needs and challenges, including navigating business stakeholders outside Global Workplace Experience (GWE). You will guide the team and lead projects by meeting objectives and preparing forecasts for resource requirements. Your risk-taking ability will help us advance new concepts and methodologies. As the subject matter expert and leader, you will provide technical guidance, oversight for team members and navigate problem solving.

In this role, you will:
- Lead security operations for NY Headquarters and Cos Cob sites, including day‑to‑day operations and cross‑functional projects.
- Manage contracted security staff and vendors, including staffing levels, performance, KPIs, and budgets.
- Oversee all site security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, mass notification) and serve as system owner in coordination with IT.
- Manage badging, visitor management, and security technology in alignment with Global Security standards.
- Develop and maintain site security plans, SOPs, risk assessments, and compliance with corporate security policies.
- Conduct investigations and partner with landlords and local, regional, and federal law enforcement.
- Lead security training, awareness programs, and onboarding for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Support crisis management, business continuity planning, and emergency response activities.
- Oversee fire and life safety programs, including inspections, training, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and execute security strategies tailored to the protection of the CEO, executives, and board members.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Proven leadership and management experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related public/private sector roles
- Strong self‑starter with demonstrated initiative, accountability, adaptability to change, and commitment to continuous improvement
- Highly organized and resourceful, with the ability to anticipate needs, prioritize effectively, manage multiple deadlines, and resolve problems independently
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills with strong attention to quality and detail
- Effective communicator and collaborator, able to work professionally across all organizational levels and with internal and external stakeholders
- Fluent skills in Microsoft Suite products
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
- Experience in a security or loss prevention program focused on the protection of personnel, buildings, equipment, and intellectual property
- Electronic security systems familiarization
- Executive protection experience
- Relevant pharmaceutical experience
- Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Minimal physical requirements including standing during executive protection support
Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel, or Environment Requirements
- Minimal travel within the NY Metropolitan area
- While the average work week will entail 40 hours of work during a standard Monday to Friday work week, the successful applicant will be expected to be available after hours and on weekends to address and manage threats

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $162,900.00 to $261,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
