The Sales Director, Natural Resources MENA is an integral and influential member of the Sales Vertical’s Leadership team and carries responsibility for developing and executing sales strategies through effective leadership of the assigned team.

The assigned Sales team is a key driver for sales execution and performance across existing accounts. You will be instrumental in the achievement of sales targets as well as the effective allocation of resources to achieve said targets. The team’s client portfolio is aligned to the Natural Resources customer vertical. 

Main Responsibilities

Delivering the Sales Strategy

  • Lead the development of client-specific strategies, incorporating macro and microeconomic factors to optimise the customer buying cycle

Growth and New Client Development

  • Pro-actively inspiring the assigned team to maximize the commercial growth of Wood Mackenzie’s portfolio to align with Global priorities, establishing a true commercial partnering relationship with the clients based on establishing value. 
  • Successfully market mapping the portfolio to maintain and grow existing clientele as well as new business, by identify the best opportunities for growth through cross-selling, upselling and new product offerings

Brand Focus

  • Actively seeking company brand development opportunities at conferences and networking within professional organizations to expand brand recognition and promote business development activities, ensuring that every lead achieves a meeting with the potential client.
  • Deliver and presents thought leadership articles and snapshots to potential clients.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally and represent Wood Mackenzie externally, ensuring alignment between client needs and organisational priorities.

People Leadership

  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing talent aligned with business priorities, fostering an inclusive and engaged team culture.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and other stakeholders to identify skill gaps, recruit effectively, and ensure diverse and high-quality hiring decisions.
  • Onboard new hires effectively, embedding Wood Mackenzie’s purpose, strategy, and culture from day one.
  • Drive performance through clear goal setting, regular feedback, coaching, and structured career development conversations.
  • Encourage ownership of Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and support continuous growth and career progression.
  • Conduct regular performance and talent reviews, addressing underperformance proactively while recognising and rewarding achievement.
  • Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and compliance across all team operations, including utilisation, policies, and engagement initiatives.
  • Lead engagement and retention initiatives to maintain motivation and reduce attrition
  • Cascade company updates, share insights upward, and act as a trusted leadership voice within the organisation.

  • Ability to interpret and execute strategic initiatives independently
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with proficiency in Salesforce adoption.

  • We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future.
  • Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones
  • While this is expected to be a full-time role, part-time or flexible working arrangements will be considered.
