The incumbent is responsible for developing and executing clearly defined business strategies in a manner that supports consistent business growth and enhances brand equity and reputation. The Director of Sales is expected to increase market share while improving bottom-line profitability and growing sales into the professional and professional ag channels. The incumbent is responsible for devising appropriate strategies to ensure clear and effective market representation and distribution, high product quality, high fill rate, effective order, and fulfillment management, and to maximize market exposure and product success. Also, the incumbent is responsible for the management of the Husqvarna Pro and Husqvarna Pro Ag Sales team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Accomplishes or exceeds goals by creating, managing, coordinating, and executing strategies such as product and package cycle plans, distribution plans, sales plans, and target pricing
  • Leads product and package cycle planning process to deliver steady flow of great new products, energize existing products, and recover/eliminate underperforming products
  • Directs distribution planning, channel development, and market representation activities to optimize market coverage, penetration, and margins, and ensure a great presentation of the brand
  • Identifies staffing requirements as part of strategic plans and leads staffing, training, and performance evaluations to support implementation
  • Coaches, mentors, and raises the team's ability to deliver and exceed expectations
  • Creates opportunities for succession talent
  • Develops annual budget
  • Controls Professional Channel expenditures to conform to budgetary requirement
  • Leads business development by identifying, interpreting, and capitalizing on market trends
  • Develops benchmark criteria to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing and product development
  • Develops and prepares key messaging and presentation material for senior management
  • Manages profitability on products, programs, promotions, and customer discounts
  • Establishes and meets yearly objectives regarding programs, pricing, error reduction, sales projections, shipping requirements, and gross profitability standards
  • Ensures the Husqvarna Pro Sales Director and Team manage forecasting, pricing, and customer service
  • Secures high quality field/market intelligence, establishes and maintains close relationships with distributors, contractors, industry experts, and policy decision makers
  • Oversees new product and program presentations and manages appropriate timelines to ensure market success
  • Ensures company coordination cross functionally to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Creates and standardizes reporting for products, categories, and customer presentations
  • Establishes annual sales objectives and incentive plans with the Husqvarna Pro Sales Director
  • Establishes and monitors information and metrics regarding service, sales, and satisfaction
  • Attends selected customer presentations
  • Oversees product comparison activities and reports

  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office applications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university
  • 15+ years’ experience with 5 years in progressive role at a Management level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preference may be given to individuals with a Master’s degree in a related field

The anticipated salary wage range for candidates who will work in California is $160,000.00 to $220,000.00. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. Husqvarna is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states
