Director of Revenue Cycle Management

Location: Little Rock, AR | Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Company Overview

Rock Dental Brands is a doctor-founded, doctor-led DSO supporting over 100 practices across multiple states. With a commitment to operational excellence and clinical autonomy, we’re rapidly growing while staying true to our mission of delivering high-quality, accessible oral health care. As we scale, we are seeking a high-caliber, results-oriented Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to own the operational oversight and performance of our end-to-end revenue cycle.

Position Summary

The Director of RCM will be the primary architect and operator of our revenue-related functions. This role is designed for a "player-coach" who possesses the strategic mindset of an executive and the tactical expertise to manage daily billing, insurance verification, claims, collections, and payer relations. The ideal candidate is a data-driven leader capable of optimizing a multi-state RCM engine to support our continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Mastery & Execution

  • End-to-End Oversight: Manage all RCM phases: front-end (verification/pre-auth), mid-cycle (coding/charge capture), and back-end (billing/AR/collections).

  • KPI Ownership: Drive performance across key metrics, including Days in AR, Net Collection Rate, Clean Claim Rate, and Denial Percentage.

  • Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in the current workflow and implement RCM best practices and automation tools to increase efficiency and cash flow.

  • Payer Management: Lead payer contracting efforts and maintain deep knowledge of reimbursement methodologies and multi-state compliance regulations.

Tactical Leadership

  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing RCM team. You will be responsible for building a culture of accountability, setting clear performance standards, and upskilling staff.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the bridge between RCM and Practice Operations, ensuring clinic staff understand their impact on the revenue cycle.

  • Vendor Management: Maintain rigorous oversight of third-party RCM vendors and clearinghouses to ensure they meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Data & Reporting

  • Financial Insights: Translate complex billing data into actionable weekly and monthly reports for the CFO and executive leadership.

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify trends in denials or payment delays and implement corrective action plans.

  • Dashboard creation and updating for all aspects of RCM functions to measure efficiency and performance.

  • Compliance: Ensure all processes remain HIPAA-compliant and adhere to internal audit standards and state-specific dental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7–10+ years of progressive RCM leadership experience. Specific experience in a multi-site healthcare or DSO environment is highly preferred.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Health Administration, or a related field.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of RCM technology platforms, EHR/PMS integrations, and Excel. Experience with RCM automation is a significant plus.

  • Mindset: A "builder" mentality. You should enjoy the challenge of refining processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong financial acumen with the ability to spot trends within large datasets and pivot strategy accordingly.

Why this role?

This is a unique opportunity for a high-performing RCM professional to have a "seat at the table" and directly influence the financial health of a premier DSO. You will have the autonomy to shape the department and the support of an executive team that values RCM as a core pillar of business success.
