About the Role
We’re looking for a seasoned people leader to join our team as Director, Remarketing Business Development. The Director, Remarketing Business Development leads the strategic growth of Element’s remarketing portfolio, driving both Core and Third Party revenue. This role sets the commercial direction, cultivates high-value partnerships, and ensures the delivery of best-in-class client experiences. Responsible for attaining annual Remarketing Revenue targets and serving as a key market and organizational leader, building credibility and influence across Element’s internal teams, executive leadership, and the broader remarketing ecosystem — including suppliers, clients, and strategic partners.
What You’ll Do
- Expand revenue and share of wallet by partnering with Element’s Account Management to deepen engagement within existing clients and grow Remarketing of Company-owned vehicles.
- Accelerate new business acquisition by supporting Sales Directors with client presentations and consultative insights that strengthen Element’s Remarketing value proposition.
- Optimize portfolio returns by leading Element’s Advanced Purchase Program (APP), driving lead generation, asset valuation accuracy, and ROI performance.
- Drive sustainable revenue expansion by owning the end-to-end sales and retention strategy for Third-Party clients, ensuring superior service delivery and long-term partnership value.
- Institutionalize best-in-class commercial practices across the sales cycle to standardize client experience, improve conversion rates, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead strategic execution of the Advanced Purchase Program (APP), ensuring seamless delivery from lead generation to sale completion while maximizing gain on sale and overall profitability.
- Empower and develop the Concierge team to deliver exceptional onboarding, inventory management, and client support that drive satisfaction and retention and growth for Third-Party accounts.
- Champion cross-functional process innovation by collaborating with clients, suppliers, and internal partners to streamline workflows and consistently exceed SLA commitments.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture that rewards accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring teams consistently deliver on commitments and embody Element’s purpose and values.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, commercial strategy within Remarketing, Fleet Management, or a closely related industry, with proven success in revenue growth and client development.
- 5+ years of leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to build, coach, and lead high-performing commercial and customer-facing teams.
- Deep expertise in asset remarketing and valuation, including residual value assessment and market positioning.
- Proven negotiation and relationship management skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional partners and clients to achieve strategic objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to define, implement, and manage KPIs, with experience in reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Experience in digital transformation, process optimization, or technology-enabled remarketing strategies.
- Industry certifications in Sales, Business Development, or Asset Management (e.g., NAFA, CAR) are advantageous.
Location: US Remote
The hiring base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $220,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
